Fly-tipping on West Barnes Lane

Reported via desktop in the Fly-Tipping category anonymously at 10:55, Monday 19 September 2022

Sent to Merton Council less than a minute later. Council ref: SRQ-856143-L1L6K1.

The four piles of fly-tipped waste, including garden waste, that i reported in June (SRQ-822898-N7L2P4) have not been removed, despite it saying "Fixed" for this on FixMyStreet. More garden waste has been added and other household rubbish. The piles are on the verge between West Barnes Lane and the Beverley Brook, opposite the grass triangle at the junction of West Barnes Lane with Claremont Avenue. The waste is spilling into the road. Why was this not dealt with in June? Leaving fly-tipping attracts more - as in this case. Please remove this waste as soon as possible (ward councillors informed). MJ

  • All the piles of garden waste are still there, as well as domestic rubbish, including a broken mobility scooter. As far as I can see, Veolia have only removed one plank of wood. Yet another example of Veolia saying that a job is "Fixed" which is untrue. The ward councillors have been notified. MJ
