Numerous road works

Sent to Merton Council less than a minute later. Council ref: SRQ-910060-W9V9B0.
This is the third or fourth time that Cannon Hill Lane j/w Kingston Road has been closed to traffic, within the last few months. On top of this, there has been closure of Cannon Hill Lane southbound and Whatley Avenue. There is also road works at Cannon Hill Lane j/w Buckleigh Avenue. Can you please explain what each of the past and present road works/closures are for.
In addition, I’ve written to appeal against the decision for Merton Borough agreeing to the ULEZ expansion zone. The lame excuse I received was that it’s the Mayors decision to reduce traffic. If we stop closing the roads and increase the speed limits from 20mph 24/7 hours per day, this will reduce traffic and emissions.
Happy to have solved your problems, can you now confirm whether or not Merton will be appealing the ULEZ expansion and the fitting of the signs.
Finally, I’ve asked for consideration of yellow lines at the junction of Cannon Hill Lane and Buckleigh Avenue, as large vehicles park on the junction, making pulling out dangerous, with little or no view.
Heard nothing!
I’ve also asked for a EV charging point and was given another load of tosh about millions being spent throughout the Borough but none in Buckleigh Avenue.
So, all these EV’s the Mayor wants us to buy, I need to park them 10 minutes walk from my house?
I’ve explained that we have two EV’s, I’m looking at upgrading the other vehicles to EV but despite fitting EV chargers in my driveway, I cannot do so until we have EV chargers in Buckleigh Avenue.
Can we please put the horse before the cart, for EV Chargers throughout residential areas and then consider expanding the ULEZ zone.
We’ve had family leave the Borough due to all this nonsense and we are considering the same, you’re making our living conditions worse and yet, the Council is supposedly working with its residents.
