To Merton Council, I write today, Of a missing bollard, gone astray. Once a sentinel, firm in its place, Now lost to the world, a vanished trace. For weeks it has lingered, not where it should be, Tossed in the river, a sight hard to see. With lorries and cars now roaming the lane, The danger it brings is a cause for concern and pain. The padlock is missing, a crucial detail, Without it, the chaos begins to prevail. Drivers unbridled, they come and they go, Through streets once protected, now open and slow. So heed this report, dear Council of Merton, Restore our safe passage, please, do not burden. Replace the lost bollard, secure it with care, For the safety of all who travel out there.
