Queens Road traffic being re-routed down Faraday and Birkbeck Roads

Reported via desktop in the Other Roads or Carriageway issue category anonymously at 14:54, Monday 2 September 2024

Sent to Merton Council less than a minute later. Council ref: SRQ-1142954-F0Y4W9.

Due to the closure of Queens Road, all vehicles have been re-routed down Faraday Road and Birkbeck Road. These roads are too narrow for the large commercial vehicles now using them eg skip lorries thundering down Birkbeck Road at speed, and this morning (7.30am 2/9/24) a double decker 200 bus stuck at the junction of Faraday and Birkbeck Road, struggling to turn the corner, spending 20 minutes in rush hour traffic to complete the turn. It is impractical and dangerous having such large vehicles routed down these roads.
