Broken Manhole cover almost caused accident

I’m also reaching out about the noisy manhole cover that was initially reported almost 2 months ago. I've taken the photos from that report to use in this one as it's the same manhole. It's a constant nuisance for everyone, but it’s clearly a safety issue too.

Recently, I saw a bus drive over the cover, creating such a loud noise that it startled a Lime bike rider that was riding directly in front and who was possibly day dreaming. The rider wobbled and lost his balance and fell onto Dorien Road, luckily there were no cars coming from there and he didn't fall to to his right where the bus was.

This manhole cover isn’t just a nuisance, it has the potential to be a hazard for bike users who aren't paying full attention to their surroundings (most of them). Please fix it as soon as possible to avoid any further incidents.

This isn't a problem that Merton's highways team will fix, but we've asked the relevant service provider to investigate.
