Complaint Regarding Food Waste Mishandling on Collection Day

Reported via desktop in the Litter or Weeds on a Street category anonymously at 10:03, Friday 29 November 2024

Sent to Merton Council less than a minute later. Council ref: SRQ-1168748-L8F0W2.

I am writing to bring to your attention an issue that occurred during the food waste collection on my street (58 Malmesbury Road, SM4 6HE) yesterday, 28 November 2024.

At approximately 8:00am, I placed my food waste in the designated food caddy, as per the usual routine. However, when I returned home later in the day, I found that the food waste had been scattered across the footpath instead of being properly collected.

I have attached a photo for reference, showing the state of the footpath. This was not only an unpleasant sight but also created a mess for pedestrians and left us to clean up the scattered waste ourselves.

I am bringing this matter to your notice so that the collection staff can ensure such incidents do not occur again in the future. This will help maintain cleanliness and avoid inconvenience to residents and pedestrians.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.
