Pet Cat - Body retrieval

Reported via mobile in the Dead Animal category anonymously at 07:14, Tuesday 21 January 2025

Sent to Merton Council less than a minute later. Council ref: SRQ-1182343-M4K8Z3.

Hello,

Our precious pet cat, Freddie, died in this location and we have been told was picked up by Merton Council on Hassocks Road at 5pm (ish). We are desperately trying to retrieve his body so we can say our goodbye’s and show his body to his sister who is looking for him.

He is microchipped, but we haven’t been informed nor had a response from Merton council in getting him back.

Appreciate any help you can give! My number is 07541741417.

Thank you so much,

Erica

  • Hi,

Please can you confirm what happened to Freddie our cat. One of your team picked him up under the Fix My Street report number SRQ-1181849-M1CXR on Saturday at 4:35pm.

I understand the Merton council protocol is to keep all deceased cats for 7 days and to scan for micro-chips. Freddie was micro-chipped and we haven’t heard anything back. If this process wasn’t followed, please confirm what happened and what steps were taken by the team. If there is any chance he is retrievable at the depot, please do so!

    Thank you, Erica
