Extensive discarded rubbish consistently scattered on pavement outside flat door entrance start of Cowper Road

Reported via mobile in the Litter or Weeds on a Street category anonymously at 11:19, Sunday 15 June 2025

Sent to Merton Council less than a minute later. Council ref: SRQ-1223741-B1J9F8.

The extensive litter has been a problem for over 10 years. And no body from the council has ever attempted to fix it. These flats at the start of Cowper Road do not use bins and rather throw their rubbish on to the street as the photos demonstrate. Inside the metal gate (which is not closed) there is a large volume of waste/litter/sanitary products lying in the ground and this is attracting rodent infestation (see the rubbish through this gate which spills on to the street on one of the photos). This needs clearing ASAP as rodent infestation at the start of a busy residential street is extremely unhygienic and worrying. The residents of this block of flats are clearly allowing the building to deteriorate into a state of disrepair…this is worrying and another issue for Merton council to attend to. The constant litter on the street and at the metal gate at the start of the street that consists of sanitary products and human waste needs fixing urgently.

Updates

  • The extensive waste including human excrement waste and food waste remains at the property in question spilling into the street. Rats and foxes remain attracted to this area. Requires immediate attention.
