Flags attached to lampposts

Union flags have been attached to lampposts (which are not flagpoles, of course) in Quicks Rd. This is my second report of this and you now have nearly 20 such reports. The flags are not wanted, please remove them. Your previous response said you don't remove things unless they are offensive. In the current political climate and context, these flags represent thinly-veiled nationalism, xenophobia and racism, and therefore are offensive. The number of these reports indicates that the local community does not want them. Please take them down, now.

Thank you for reporting this.
We clear most fly-tips from public streets and pavements within 24 hours of them being reported. Some may take longer if we need specialist equipment or if our enforcement team is investigating.Posted by Merton Council at 16:32, Sunday 26 October 2025
