Lack of regular sweeping in Brooklands Avenue.

Reported via desktop in the Litter or Weeds on a Street category anonymously at 15:33, Tuesday 4 November 2025

Sent to Merton Council less than a minute later. Council ref: SRQ-1262629-K0Z7B9.

I have been asked to report residents' continued dissatisfaction with the quality and regularity of the street sweeping in Brooklands Avenue. The issue is particularly pressing on Mondays after the collection of refuse, food recycling and recycling. This is a long-term, ongoing issue because neighbours have raised this issue with me over months and years, and it seems to be getting worse.

Updates

  • Thank you for reporting litter or weeds on a street.

If litter is widespread, we aim to clear it within 24 hours of your report. It may take longer if we need specialist equipment.
Reports of weeds or leaves will help us to plan our seasonal work. Weeds are normally cleared in spring, summer and early autumn. Leaves are only cleared once they have broken down.

Our street cleaning teams remove over 130 tonnes of litter and dumped waste each month
