River Wandle walk path

Reported via desktop in the Other Footway or Footpath Issue category anonymously at 14:06, Friday 7 November 2025

Sent to Merton Council less than a minute later. Council ref: SRQ-1263006-Y4D4W5.

The river Wandle walk path needs maintaining more regularly. The leaf litter also needs removing and on a regular basis during this period of the year. It has not been done so a long time making it hard for pedestrians and cyclists to use the path. In many places, especially after rain, the decomposing leaf litter turns to sludge and is very slippery to walk/cycle on, to the point that accidents can easily happen. Sending the street sweeping machine along here once a week would prove beneficial and avoid accidents. The vegetation to the side of the path also needs taking back so passing by cyclists or pedestrians can be achieved.
