Blocked drains causing water overflow in front of our gates
Reported via desktop in the Blocked Drain or Gully category anonymously at 12:01, Friday 14 November 2025
Sent to Merton Council less than a minute later. Council ref: SRQ-1263681-X2H4C0.
A huge amount of leaves that has not been cleared blocking one and only drain. It also does not help that the road surface has not been done properly and most water collects in front of our gates rather than being diverted towards the drain

Thank you for reporting a blocked drain or gully.
If we can clear the blockage using a tanker with a suction hose, we will do this within 5 working days of your report.
If more complex work is needed such as digging out compacted silt or repairing collapsed drains, it may take longer.
If we cannot get access because of parked cars, we will return within 10 working days.Did you know…?
We manage and maintain 17,900 road gullies across the borough. All high-risk gullies in areas known to have flooding issues are cleaned at least once a year and all other gullies are cleaned bi-annually.

Despite reporting this 3 weeks ago, nothing got done and we are still experiencing having huge puddles of water in front of our drive, that cannot drain due to the blocked drain. We tried clearing it ourselves this morning but it is not possible. Why has your contractor not done anything?
