Overflowing bin next to SAI Mot Center on Hardy Road

Reported via desktop in the Litter Bins on a Street category anonymously at 20:49, Mon 24 November 2025

Sent to Merton Council 3 days, 15 hours, 17 minutes later. Council ref: SRQ-1264660-P2F6H2.

Moderated by Merton Council at 12:04, Fri 28 November 2025

There appears to have been an abandoned recycling bin next to the motor garage at the end of Hardy Road. However, it has been getting filled with rubbish over the course of the last month -- and a few days ago there was rubbish thrown out all around it as if the foxes had gotten into the bin. The recycling bin and glass box needs to be removed so that passers-by don't continue to overflow it -- and all trash disposed of.

Updates

  • Thank you for reporting a problem with litter bins.

We aim to empty all reported overflowing litter bins within 24 hours. Other issues may take a little longer.

    Did you know…?
Merton provides and maintains over 1,000 public street litter bins across the borough. We emptied litter bins over 360,000 times in the year 2024/5, and received only 188 reports of bins overflowing. That's less than one report for every 1000 empties.
