Resident’s regular ‘pruning’ campaign

Reported via mobile in the Damaged Street Tree category anonymously at 21:37, Thu 11 December 2025

Sent to Merton Council less than a minute later. Council ref: SRQ-1266328-H3Z0G3.

Every couple of years, the owners of 229 Coombe Lane tidy up the area outside their property - but this area belongs to the council. Mowing the grass is fine however the damage they cause to the tamarisk tree is horrendous. It’s a beautiful tree - that eventually grows back despite their over zealous pruning and then they cut it right back again (see photos). As this isn’t their tree to cut, please issue a cease and desist order from damaging what is Merton council’s property.
