Queues of idling traffic

Reported via mobile in the Other Roads or Carriageway issue category anonymously at 16:53, Fri 12 December 2025

Sent to Merton Council less than a minute later. Council ref: SRQ-1266407-L4N3B0.

During rush hour, especially in the evening, the traffic backs up up to about 2/3rds the way up Grasmere Avenue. When this happens the air quality monitors I have in my house increase dramatically - I can only presume this is from the particulates from diesel cars that are queuing on the road. The road could really do with no idling/turn off your engine whilst queuing signs.

This has been going on for several years but the length people are queuing down Grasmere has become a much more recent occurrence (the last few months).
