Pope close - litter including clinical waste in the street

Reported via mobile in the Litter or Weeds on a Street category anonymously at 12:19, Sun 14 December 2025

Sent to Merton Council less than a minute later. Council ref: SRQ-1266496-Z8W0N6.

The last time the bins were emptied for some flats in Pope close was on the 22nd of November. This caused an accumulation of bin bags making our neighbours leaving bags in the floor that foxes then ripped spreading trash around the neighborhood including syringes as you can see in the picture. This is a public health problem that requires your intervention. I know the bin collection for the flats in question is not from council responsibility but public health is especially when clinical waste is spread around and there are children in the neighborhood. We appreciate your help and I am happy to provide images from surveillance camera to help you with this. Thanks

Updates

  • Thank you for reporting litter or weeds on a street.

If litter is widespread, we aim to clear it within 24 hours of your report. It may take longer if we need specialist equipment.
Reports of weeds or leaves will help us to plan our seasonal work. Weeds are normally cleared in spring, summer and early autumn. Leaves are only cleared once they have broken down.
