Canterbury Road (main part)

Reported in the Damage to Grass Verge category anonymously at 07:26, Tuesday 6 January 2026

Sent to Merton Council less than a minute later. Council ref: SRQ-1268304-S0C0B2.

Someone has already reported unsightly and dangerous use of grass verges. The area used to be something to be proud of. Now,thanks to whoever decided after many many years of no problems, to put in double yellow lines. This has caused untold parking problems and drivers using the pavements and grass areas to squeeze in to park where ever they can. So let's make the roads clear and create havic on the pavements and what used to be lovely grass areas. What a wonderful idea...not. I also notice by walking the area that lots of residents have given themselves illegal crossovers. Several I see from reading have been reported, but nothing is done. I guess those who had the bright idea of creating this parking problem, don't actually live in the area. Several residents have either sold their cars,or just don't go out in case they cannot park again. What a way to live.....Rant over. Please can the yellow lines and parking be looked into and solved
