Road humps
Sent to Merton Council less than a minute later. Council ref: SRQ-1269374-Z4Q5G1.
5 Road humps have been installed in Longthornton Road recently .We now need some sort calming in Beckway Road.Yesterday a neighbour and I walked down to see the new humps.Yes they do slow the traffic down however we noticed that drivers now speed up along Beckway Road to make up for lost time.Drivers speed along Beckway Road anyway and this will make the matter worse.

If there is a fault with the road or pavement, a highway officer will visit to inspect the site within five working days. If we decide it’s an emergency we will make it safe within 4 hours following the inspection. If it is not dangerous, we will resolve it within 28 days following the inspection.

The speeding down Beckway Road still continues day and night as car try to “ make up for lost time “ due to the humps in Longthornton Road.This also happens if there is a traffic problem in Rowan Road.Most people in the road especially those elderly and parents with young children feel that the speeding should be addressed.Please give this your urgent attention before a serious accident happens.Thank you.

A number of neighbours both elderly and parents with young children down Beckway Road have mentioned that there needs to be traffic control as in Longthornton Road.Some I think have written to Merton Council.This needs to be brought to the attention of local MPs as well.

The speed humps appear to be working in slowing down drivers on Longthornton Road but something needs to be done with speeding drivers on Beckway Road.Urgently.

As mentioned earlier. The traffic calming humps a definitely slowing the traffic down but cars are still speeding down Beckway Road to make up for lost time.Humps or one way system to calm traffic. Demographics have changed over the years and more families with young children moving in.Traffic needs to be slowed down. Thank you.

People still speed through over 20 mph and even worse if there is a traffic problem in Rowan road. There are also residents at the top of the road that speed down the road in top of the range cars.Have no respect and use it as a Santa Pod race way.Maybe speed humps as well,or narrow restrictions or one way. Something needs to be done before serious accident. Thank you.
