Awaiting new tree and the hole gets filled in!

Reported via mobile in the Other Street Tree Problem category by Jamie Baker at 17:17, Tuesday 3 February 2026

Sent to Merton Council less than a minute later. Council ref: SRQ-1271705-N3T5T8.

I live at 119 Woodstock way and had a hole made for the street tree project right outside our house on the street. We were really excited to see this project coming to life - and have been a. Huge supporter of the initiative. After the hole was left since December, I was gutted to find today that the whole has been filled with tarmac. Since the plans for the project were first released, we were told we’d have a tree outside our address, so I’m beyond disappointed to see that plan dropped. Please could I get an answer for why our tree wasn’t put in, and ask that this be reconsidered. A huge tree opposite our home was cut down in December last year so our end of the street in desperate for a new tree and some life pumped back in to it. I look forward to your reply.
