Parking causing obstruction
Reported via mobile in the Other Roads or Carriageway issue category anonymously at 09:24, Wednesday 4 February 2026
Sent to Merton Council less than a minute later. Council ref: SRQ-1271745-B4T0R2.
There are temporary road works at the junction of Blakes Terrace and West Barnes Lane with 3-way temporary traffic signals in operation.
Due to on-street parking on Blakes Terrace, there is no available space for vehicles to queue when waiting to turn into West Barnes Lane. As a result, vehicles are forced to stop in the running lane or block the junction while waiting at the temporary signals.
This is causing congestion and presents a road safety risk, particularly during peak times, with vehicles queuing into the junction and limited visibility for approaching traffic.
