Shannon Corner Litter and graffiti

Reported via mobile in the Litter or Weeds on a Street category anonymously at 19:20, Saturday 14 February 2026

Sent to Merton Council less than a minute later. Council ref: SRQ-1272896-G0V5V4.

The central reservation is strewn with litter and graffiti. This area is surrounded by schools abd is a real eyesore. It’s also been decimated by recent works. Please also lay new grass, shrubs and trees to improve pollution. Thanks

Updates

  • Thank you for reporting litter or weeds on a street.

If litter is widespread, we aim to clear it within 24 hours of your report. It may take longer if we need specialist equipment.
Reports of weeds or leaves will help us to plan our seasonal work. Weeds are normally cleared in spring, summer and early autumn. Leaves are only cleared once they have broken down.

    Did you know…?
Our street cleaning teams remove over 130 tonnes of litter and dumped waste each month

  • The litter is still there and I noticed that the same situation exists near the big Next and Pets at Home. Litter everywhere in the central reservations.

  • Nothing has been done to improve this situation. There is excessive litter and graffiti at Shannon Corner and further up by the Next and Pets at Home. Such a shame as this area is surrounded by schools. Such and eyesore!

  • Nothing has been done to clear the litter or graffiti. Shameful
