Mechanical work at residential property using public space that compromised public safety

Sent to Merton Council less than a minute later. Council ref: SRQ-1274757-L9H1H7.
Dear Sir/Madam, I am writing to inform the Council of a public safety concern regarding the misuse of a residential property for business activities.
A resident at 32 Dahlia Gardens, CR4 1LA is operating mechanical work from his home. This has resulted in the storage of scrap vehicles on his driveway, which obstructs the public footpath. On numerous occasions, the safety of a wheelchair user has been significantly compromised, almost resulting in serious injury.
In addition, the situation poses a considerable risk to the general public, particularly children commuting to and from school. Mechanical work is frequently carried out outside the property, with vehicles left elevated on jacks for extended periods. The combination of a narrowed footpath and vehicles raised on jacks presents a serious public safety hazard and requires urgent attention.
I would appreciate being informed of the Council’s intended course of action regarding this issue.
I look forward to your response.

• 7 days for vehicles on the public highway that are not dangerous - this applies to most abandoned vehicles
• 24 hours if we decide the vehicle is dangerous
