Reported via mobile in the Faulty Manhole Cover on a Path or Pavement category anonymously at 13:25, Monday 23 March 2026
Sent to Merton Council less than a minute later. Council ref: SRQ-1277050-D0D9D8.
The iron manhole cover has rusted and fractured into several pieces, with one piece falling into the drain below. There is now an 8ft drop down the exposed shaft to the drain below. It has been temporarily covered with plywood board and timber to prevent any injuries. The cover no longer works and needs replacing. The broken piece needs recovering from the drain shaft.
