Manhole cover making loud noise when cars drive over

This has now been happening for years and it comes back always not long after it has been “fixed” the noise keeps us up at night and it’s really just not fair

  • Thank you for reporting a faulty manhole cover.

    We will inspect it within five working days to determine if the problem is with the cover itself or the road. If the cover is the problem, we will contact the utility company to repair the defect.
    If the road is damaged, repairs are usually carried out within 28 days following inspection.
    If we decide it’s an emergency we will make it safe within 4 hours following the inspection.
