Tree with dangerous fungus - could fall onto nursery

Reported via desktop in the Trees in a park or recreation ground category anonymously at 07:34, Tuesday 9 June 2026

Sent to Merton Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 9585151.

I have been informed that this tree has a fungal infection which means that it is rotting from the inside. There is an incredibly large branch overhanging the 1st lower Morden scout hall and the Bow Lane Nursery. Should this tree fall when either the nursery or the scout troop are meeting this could cause significant damage, if not danger to life. Please can the council cut down the top branches and height of the tree so that if it were to fall the risk of damage/danger is reduced.
