Reported via mobile in the Abandoned Vehicles category anonymously at 12:26, Saturday 20 June 2026

Sent to Merton Council less than a minute later. Council ref: SRQ-1286849-G0L8Q2.

Dear Sir/Madam, I am a resident of 9 Hayward Close and pay for the parking space allocated to my property. Unfortunately, I have noticed that other vehicles are repeatedly parking in my designated space without permission. This has become an ongoing issue, causing inconvenience and preventing me from using the parking space that I am entitled to as a resident. I would appreciate it if this matter could be investigated and appropriate action taken to prevent unauthorized parking in my allocated space. Thank you for your attention to this matter. I look forward to your response.

Updates

  • Thank you for reporting an abandoned vehicle.

We will investigate to decide if the vehicle has been abandoned.

If it is abandoned, we will give notice to the owner before we remove it. The length of notice depends on the circumstances, and is normally:

    • 7 days for vehicles on the public highway that are not dangerous - this applies to most abandoned vehicles

    • 24 hours if we decide the vehicle is dangerous

    • 15 days if the vehicle is on private land unless the landowner or occupier objects

    Did you know…?
We investigate on average over 1500 reports of abandoned vehicles per year in Merton.
