I hope you are well.
I have recently bought number 40 Framfield Road, CR4 2AL. When I viewed and purchased the property, there was no tree outside the house, but it looks like one has been planted recently.
I have been very busy with the house move and renovation work, so I have not had the chance to raise this issue sooner.
The tree appears to be newly planted and still staked, so I wanted to ask whether it could be relocated slightly before it becomes established. Its current position is inconvenient for the front of the property and has already made it difficult to get materials delivered to the house during the renovation works, including jumbo bags of sand, soil, and other building materials.
I am also concerned that as the tree grows, deliveries and access to the front of the property will become even more difficult. Most trees on the road appear to be positioned more in line with property boundaries or fence lines, whereas this tree has been planted more towards the middle of the front of my property, which makes it particularly inconvenient.
I also have plans to build a driveway in the future, and I am concerned that the current position of the tree may cause issues with access or the placement of a future dropped kerb. As the tree grows, it is also likely to significantly reduce the natural light coming into the front rooms of my house and may effect the price of the house if I ever come to sell.
I am not asking for the tree to be removed permanently, but I would be grateful if the street tree team could inspect it and advise whether it can be moved to a more suitable nearby position while it is still young.
