Bordesley road resident keeps placing raw meat/food on public grass verge everyday to feed foxes

Subject: Report of Wildlife Feeding Causing Nuisance – Bordesley Road

I would like to report an ongoing issue at Bordesley Road.

The occupant regularly places raw chicken pieces and leftover food, including food taken directly from cooking pans, on the public grass verge outside or near the property to feed foxes.

This appears to be encouraging foxes to gather in the area on a regular basis and is creating a nuisance for neighbouring residents. The foxes have become increasingly accustomed to people and are frequently seen approaching humans along the road, approaching them at their front doors and driveways which is causing concern among local residents. This has become a daily occurrence and has been continuous for well over 1 year now. Other residents have already place a sign up on the road to request tge person responsible to stop doing this as previously they was doing this at the end of the road on the public grass verge. Now this person has just move to another location on the road and continues to place raw meat/food daily out on the public grass verge.

In addition, the foxes are regularly raiding neighbouring residents’ household and recycling bins on their driveways, scattering rubbish around the area and creating additional mess and hygiene concerns.

As the food is being left on public land, I am concerned that this may also attract other pests and present a potential public health issue.

I would appreciate it if the matter could be investigated and, if appropriate, the resident could be advised to stop placing food on the public grass verge in a way that encourages wildlife to become dependent on it and causes nuisance to the surrounding neighbourhood.
